AERONAUTICAL METEOROLOGICAL INFORMATION 1 PROPÓSITO 1 PURPOSE Establecer  los  lineamientos  para  las  tripulaciones  de vuelo,  administradores  de  aeropuertos  y  personal  de operaciones, para que puedan acceder a la información meteorológica  y  climatológica  aeronáutica  de  manera virtual  (en  línea)  con  el  fin  de  facilitar  el  acceso  a información esencial para la seguridad operacional, que ha sido generada por el servicio meteorológico para la navegación aérea. To  establish  guidelines  for  flight  crews,  airport administrators, and operations personnel, enabling them to access aeronautical meteorological and climatological information virtually (online), with the purpose of facilitating access to essential information for operational safety, as generated by the meteorological service for air navigation. 2 JUSTIFICACIÓN 2 RATIONALE El Reglamento Aeronáutico Colombiano RAC 203 Servicio Meteorológico para la Navegación Aérea, establece que se debe proporcionar exposiciones verbales, consultas y documentación de vuelo a las tripulaciones y personal de operaciones, es por ello que como estrategia para difundir la información meteorológica se podrá acceder a ella en línea a través de las herramientas dispuestas por  el  Proveedor  del  Servicio  Meteorológico  para  la Navegación Aérea (METP), sin embargo, esto no exime a las tripulaciones o personal de operaciones de poder asistir a las dependencias meteorológicas que correspondan. AIRMET: La  información  que  expide  una  oficina  de vigilancia meteorológica respecto a la presencia real o prevista de determinados fenómenos meteorológicos en ruta que puedan afectar a la seguridad operacional de los vuelos a baja altura, y que no estaba incluida en el pronóstico expedido para los vuelos a baja altura en la

región de información de vuelo de que se trate o en una subzona de esta.

AIRMET: Information issued by a Meteorological Watch Office concerning the actual or expected occurrence of specified en­route weather phenomena that may affect the operational safety of low­level flights, and which was not included in the forecast issued for low­level flights within the relevant flight information region or sub­area thereof.

AMD: Enmiende  o  enmendado  (utilizado  para  indicar mensaje meteorológico; designador de tipo de mensaje) AMD: Amended (used to indicate meteorological message; message type designator) ASHTAM: Serie especial de NOTAM que notifica por medio de un formato específico un cambio de importancia para las operaciones de las aeronaves debido a la actividad de un volcán, una erupción volcánica o una nube de cenizas volcánicas.

ASHTAM: A special series of NOTAM notifying, by means of a specific format, a change of significance to aircraft operations  due  to  volcanic  activity,  an  eruption,  or  a volcanic ash cloud.

Civil. 6 PUNTOS IMPORTANTES 6 KEY CONSIDERATIONS De acuerdo con el RAC 203 Servicio Meteorológico para la Navegación Aérea, la finalidad del servicio es contribuir a la seguridad operacional, regularidad y eficiencia de la navegación aérea. Por tanto, se hace necesario establecer canales de comunicación que garanticen la eficiencia del servicio en la provisión de información meteorológica a los  usuarios  para  el  planeamiento  y  desarrollo  de  las operaciones aéreas.
