SKILLS Ecuador National Plan for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Aquaculture and Fisheries Executing Institution: Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment, and Fisheries (MAGP) Objective: Design and implement a comprehensive management plan for aquaculture and fisheries in mainland Ecuador that enables the sustainable management of aquatic resources, strengthens participatory governance among key stakeholders, and incorporates strategies for productive diversification and climate change adaptation based on assessments and feasibility studies.

To build capacity through a training program on climate-smart agriculture for horticultural entrepreneurs, thereby improving their competitiveness and access to markets.

Uruguay Building Climate-Smart Capacities in Uruguay Executing Institution: Office of Planning and Budget (OPP) Objective: Train at least 40 subnational government officials from across the country in the analysis and implementation of climate-smart solutions that incorporate specific knowledge and technologies for subnational management and local economic development through workshops, exchanges, and the design and evaluation of technological solutions over a 16-month period.

Implementation Status: Progress in activity implementation - Progress in institutional coordination with key stakeholders (DNCC, ANII, ENAP) to ensure technical alignment and susta inability. - Design and implementation of a training program on climate-smart innovation and management for subnational governments. - Selection and development of technological prototypes to address local climate challenges. - Progress on a strategic agreement with UTEC to ensure the implementation of the training program.

UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES Costa Rica Strategic Training on Gender and Climate Action for Territorial Development Executing Agency: National Institute for Women (INAMU) Objective: Strengthen the technical, institutional, and inter-agency coordination capacities of INAMU’s regional offices to effectively integrate a gender perspective into climate action and the territorial management of equality and non-violence, thereby contributing to the sustainable implementation of regional plans for equality, non-violence, and climate action in Costa Rica.
