1. INTRODUCTION This document contains the report on the virtual meeting of Working Group 3 of the InterAmerican Committee on Tourism (CITUR), on “Strengthening Connectivity in the Region, including the Promotion of Multi-Destination Trips as a Strategic Opportunity for Releasing the Full Potential of the Region’s Cultural and Natural Heritage as well as other Community Tourism Attractions,” held on December 10, 2025.

2. BACKGROUND The virtual meeting was convened to define actions, assign responsibilities, and establish dates for completion of the activities set out in the 2025-2028 work plan of CITUR.

4. OPENING SESSION Richard Campbell, Head of the Culture and Tourism Section, opened the meetings and welcomed the participants.

Remarks by the Chair of CITUR Mrs. Angelita Duarte de Melillo, Minister of Tourism of Paraguay, welcomed the participants and shared her vision of the meetings and expected results. Remarks by the OAS General Secretariat Mrs. Barbara Kotschwar, Director of the Department of Economic Development of the OAS General Secretariat, reported on the objectives of the working groups and the topics to be considered at the meetings.

5. PROCEEDINGS Cristina Edwards, Director of Tourism Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Tourism of Jamaica, in her capacity as Chair of the Working Group, presided over the meeting and expressed her country’s honor in leading the Working Group.

The agenda of the meeting was adopted. Mrs. Edwards detailed the activities set out in the work plan assigned to the Working Group. Richard Campbell, head of the Culture and Tourism Section, mentioned that it was important to count on the collaboration of the IATA, which was unable to be present at the meeting. Ms. Edwards said that a WhatsApp group would be created for better coordination. The Honduran delegation mentioned that the work under way on regional connectivity within the framework of the Central American Secretariat for Tourism Integration (SITCA) and Mundo Maya could be shared. Mr. Richard Campbell also noted the advisability of contacting the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), which also had initiatives related to connectivity.

6. CLOSING SESSION Mrs. Edwards summarized what had been discussed at the meeting and thanked the delegations for their participation, and the Secretariat for its support.

The Minister of Paraguay concluded the discussions of the Third Working Group; thanked the Working Group’s officers, the delegations, the Secretariat, the interpreters, and partners who had attended the meeting; and adjourned the meeting.
