Ramón Méndez Galain es un reconocido experto en política energética y transición hacia energías renovables. Actualmente se desempeña como Director Ejecutivo de Ivy.

Previamente, fue Director Nacional de Energía de Uruguay, donde lideró el diseño e implementación de la transformación del sector energético del país, contribuyendo a posicionar a Uruguay como un referente internacional en el desarrollo de matrices eléctricas basadas en fuentes renovables.

El Sr. Méndez ha asesorado a gobiernos y organismos internacionales en temas de política energética, cambio climático y desarrollo sostenible, y ha participado como conferencista en diversos foros internacionales. Es físico de formación y cuenta con una destacada trayectoria en el diseño de políticas públicas en el sector energético. .

Ramón Méndez Galain is a recognized expert in energy policy and renewable energy transition. He currently serves as Executive Director of Ivy.

Previously, he was Uruguay’s National Director of Energy, where he led the design and implementation of the country’s energy transformation, helping position Uruguay as an international benchmark in renewable-based electricity systems.

Mr. Méndez has advised governments and international organizations on energy policy, climate change, and sustainable development, and has participated as a speaker in various international forums. He holds a degree in physics and has an extensive trajectory in the design of public policies in the energy sector.- 2Christopher Klein Subsecretario Adjunto Interino, Oficina de Control de Armamentos y No Proliferación Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos

Christopher Klein es miembro de carrera del Servicio Exterior Superior de los Estados Unidos. Actualmente se desempeña como Subsecretario Adjunto interino en la Oficina de Control de Armamentos y No Proliferación, donde lidera temas relacionados con la no proliferación nuclear y la competitividad en el ámbito nuclear.

Previamente, fue Asesor Principal en el equipo de Competitividad Nuclear del mismo Departamento. Entre 2021 y 2023, se desempeñó como Subsecretario Adjunto Principal para Asuntos de Organizaciones Internacionales. También fue Jefe Adjunto de Misión y Encargado de Negocios en la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en Hanoi.

En Washington, ocupó cargos como Subsecretario Ejecutivo Adjunto en la Secretaría Ejecutiva del Departamento de Estado y Subdirector de la Oficina de Asuntos de China y Mongolia, así como Asistente Especial en la Oficina de Asia Oriental y el Pacífico.

Antes de incorporarse al Servicio Exterior, trabajó como periodista, publicando en diversos medios. Es graduado de San Francisco State University y del National War College.

Christopher Klein Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State

Christopher Klein is a career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service. He currently serves as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation, where he oversees issues related to nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear competitiveness.

Previously, he served as Senior Advisor on the Bureau’s Nuclear Competitiveness Team. From 2021 to 2023, he was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Organization Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. He also served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.

In Washington, his assignments have included Deputy Executive Secretary in the Department’s Executive Secretariat and Deputy Director of the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs, as well as Special Assistant in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.- 3Internationally, he has served at U.S. Embassies in Paris, Baghdad, Beijing, and Ashgabat, and at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York, where he served as Political Minister-Counselor.
