NOTICE
(Guidelines for the organization of events within the framework of the fifty-sixth regular session of the General Assembly)
The Office of the Assistant Secretary General, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, presents its compliments to the permanent missions of the member states, permanent observers, and areas of the General Secretariat, and has the pleasure to refer to the inquiries received regarding holding events within the framework of the fif ty-sixth regular session of the General Assembly, to be held in Panama City from June 22 to 24, 2026.
The delegation of Panama appreciates the significant interest shown by delegations and areas in organizing events within the framework of the General Assembly. However, in light of the time and space constraints inherent in the organization of the session, the host government will carefully review each request on a case-by-case basis.
In order to facilitate planning by delegations and interested areas, the following guidelines should be observed:
- Communication of interest. Delegations or areas wishing to organize an event should formally notify the delegation of Panama ( sebicentenario@mire.gob.pa;
panama@oas.org), with a copy to the Office of the Assistant Secretary General (asg_oasg@oas.org).
- Spaces. The ATLAPA Convention Center —the venue of General Assembly session —is designated for official events; therefore, no space is expected to be available at that venue for other events.
- Schedule. In order to facilitate the smooth conduct of the General Assembly session, organizers are encouraged to take into consideration the official agenda scheduled for June 22 to 24, 2026, when planning side events.

The General Secretariat is focused on organizing and supporting the official events of the General Assembly and therefore does not have the capacity to provide coordination, technical, or logistical support services for other events, the organization of which shall be the sole responsibility of the organizers.
The Office of the Assistant Secretary General thanks delegations in advance for their cooperation in following these guidelines, which are intended to ensure the smooth conduct of the fiftysixth regular session of the General Assembly.
