Excellency: I have the honor to address Your Excellency, in your capacity as Chair of the Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs (CAAP), in order to forward, through you, proposed amendments to resolution CP/RES. 982 (1797/11), in accordance with operative paragraph III.14.b. of resolution AG/RES. 1 (LVIII-E/25) rev. 1, which requests “the General Secretariat to submit to the CAAP , by February 28, 2026, proposed amendments to resolution CP/RES. 982 (1797/11), taking into account the results of the process mentioned in the preceding paragraph, for the CAAP to report to the Permanent Council no later than April 15, 2026, with a view to their consideration and adoption.” In keeping with that mandate, the Department of Conferences and Meetings Management
conducted an exhaustive technical and financial review that included several comparative analyses and budgetary exercises. The work sought to update and adjust the current rates to make them more competitive and aligned with current market conditions, while ensuring the operational sustainability of the services provided. It should be noted that the proposed amendments have been structured to present a revised budget without increasing the total cost, thereby optimizing the allocation of resources and maintaining the required financial balance. Please be assured, Excellency, of my commitment to continue informing the CAAP in a timely manner, as appropriate, and kindly accept the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
