March 9, 2026 His Excellency Benoni Belli Permanent Representative of Brazil to the OAS Chair of the Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs of the Permanent Council Organization of American States Excellency: I have the honor to address Your Excellency with reference to the decision adopted by the Permanent Council at its regular meeting of March 4, regarding the proposed “Mechanism for Systematizing Information under the Inter-American Democratic Charter” and in follow-up to note CP/CAAP-4218/26 from Ambassador Luis Ernesto Vargas, Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS and Chair of the Permanent Council, in which he requests the consideration and evaluation of the proposed mechanism by the Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs (CAAP), which you chair. In that regard, and in order to take the appropriate steps, I kindly request that consideration of the budgetary implications of the implementation of the proposed mechanism be included on the order of business of the regular meeting of the CAAP scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
