DRAFT RESOLUTION

AMENDMENTS TO THE STATUTE AND REGULATIONS

OF THE INTER-AMERICAN TELECOMMUNICATION COMMISSION

(Agreed upon by the Committee at its meeting held on April 29, 2026 and submitted to the Permanent Council for consideration)

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

WITH REGARD TO the amendments to the Regulations and Statute of the Inter -American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), approved during the ninth regular meeting of the Assembly of CITEL by means of Resolution CITEL/RES. 97 (IX-26); and

CONSIDERING that the amendments to the Statute of CITEL approved by the CITEL Assembly, in accordance with articles 5 and 34 of the Statute of CITEL, are subject to approval by the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), and that the modifications to the Regulations of CITEL, approved by the CITEL Assembly, should be submitted to the OAS General Assembly for information purposes,

RESOLVES:

1. To approve, with retroactive effect to the date of its approval during the ninth regular meeting of the Assembly of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), by means of Resolution CITEL/RES. 97 (IX-26), those amendments to the Statute of CITEL contained in Annex 1 of this resolution.

2. To take note of the amendments to the Regulations of CITEL approved during the ninth regular meeting of the Assembly of CITEL by means of Resolution CITEL/RES. 97 (IX -26) contained in Annex 2 of this resolution.- 2Annex 1: Amendments to the Statute of CITEL: CITEL/doc.630p1r1/26
