OF THE GUIDELINES FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS IN OAS ACTIVITIES [CP/RES. 759 (1217/99)] [ Fundación para el Desarrollo del Conocimiento Suma Veritas]ANALYSIS OF THE APPLICATION BY FUNDACIÓN PARA EL DESARROLLO DEL CONOCIMIENTO SUMA VERITAS TO BE REGISTERED WITH THE OAS This document was prepared by the Office of Relations with Civil Society, under the Office of the Assistant Secretary General, to provide information to the member states of the Organization of American States (OAS) on the civil society organization Fundación para el Desarrollo del Conocimiento Suma Veritas [Suma Veritas Foundation for the Advancement of Knowledge]. The information contained in this report is provided pursuant to resolution CP/RES. 759 (1217/99), “Guidelines for the Participation of Civil Society Organizations in OAS Activities,” and includes a summary and a list of data and documentation presented by Fundación para el Desarrollo del Conocimiento Suma Veritas (Fundación Suma Veritas) in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned resolution.

1. Background A non-profit social organization, Fundación Suma Veritas was established in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on July 5, 2004, as a civil society organization committed to promoting equality, inclusive leadership, and sustainable development, with special emphasis on empowering women and

strengthening citizen participation. Fundación Suma Veritas focuses on promoting women’s leadership and gender equity, through strategic partnerships in economic and social activities, seeking to provide an enabling environment for women to build a sustainable future. At the same time, it promotes a culture of peace, dialogue, and human rights, focusing on issues of inclusion, the environment, and reducing inequalities. Suma Veritas Foundation is financed through contributions from the founder, as well as from grants, bequests, inheritance gifts, donations, and voluntary contributions. Suma Veritas Foundation submitted its application to the OAS on July 9, 2025.

3. Primary areas of activity and contributions that could be of interest to the OAS Fundación Suma Veritas is primarily dedicated to enhancing the presence, leadership, and integral development of women, guided by three core areas of activity: training, solidarity, and civic participation. The Foundation has organized – and participated in – discussions and summits and promoted training programs for women entrepreneurs. It believes that its experience in promoting gender equity and developing women’s business initiatives could be a great asset to the OAS.

4. Identification of potential areas of collaboration with the OAS Fundación para el Desarrollo del Conocimiento Suma Veritas proposes to collaborate with the

OAS in the following areas: Working together with the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM), on cooperation, collaboration, and assistance to women regarding their economic rights.

Collaborating with the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) to design and implement civic education and institutional capacity-building programs, promoting citizen participation and community leadership. Providing input to the Department of Access to Rights of the Secretariat for the Strengthening of Democracy (SSD), to help promote inclusive policies seeking to develop social leadership skills from a gender perspective. Follow-up on implementation of Summits of the Americas mandates and OAS General Assembly and Permanent Council resolutions. Promoting civil society participation in activities organized by the OAS and registration of civil society organizations in the OAS roster.
