OF THE GUIDELINES FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS IN OAS ACTIVITIES [CP/RES. 759 (1217/99)] [ Coordinadora de Instituciones Privadas Pro las Niñas, Niños, Adolescentes, Jóvenes y sus Derechos (COIPRODEN)]ANALYSIS OF THE APPLICATION BY COORDINADORA DE INSTITUCIONES PRIVADAS PRO LAS NIÑAS, NIÑOS, ADOLESCENTES, JÓVENES Y SUS DERECHOS (COIPRODEN) TO BE REGISTRED WITH THE OAS This document was prepared by the Office of Relations with Civil Society, under the Office of the Assistant Secretary General, to provide information to the member states of the Organization of American States (OAS) on the civil society organization Coordinadora de Instituciones Privadas Pro las Niñas, Niños, Adolescentes, Jóvenes y sus Derechos [Coordinator of Private Institutions for Children, Adolescents, Young People, and Their Rights (COIPRODEN)]. The information contained in this report is in response to resolution CP/RES.759 (1217/99), "Guidelines for the Participation of Civil Society Organizations in OAS Activities," and includes a summary and a list of the various elements and documentation submitted by Coordinadora de Instituciones Privadas Pro las Niñas, Niños, Adolescentes, Jóvenes y sus Derechos (COIPRODEN), in compliance with the provisions of the aforementioned resolution.

1. Background COIPRODEN is a non-profit civil association founded in 1989 and legally incorporated in Honduras on August 23, 1997. It is a nationwide network of Honduran civil society organizations, and

compliance with the provisions of the aforementioned resolution.

It is a nationwide network of Honduran civil society organizations, and its mission is to coordinate and boost efforts to promote and defend the best interests of Honduran children, adolescents, and young people, ultimately to get them to reach their full potential. Its programs focus on political advocacy, public policy, comprehensive protection, active participation, and violence prevention.

COIPRODEN strives to be a collaborative organization effective in building a society where the rights of children, adolescents, and young people in Honduras are respected, promoted, enjoyed, and upheld. Through its key areas of focus—disability, vulnerable children, and children in foster care —the organization strives to advance an agenda that advocates for the rights of children and adolescents. COIPRODEN is funded through international assistance, donations, member contributions, and projects. COIPRODEN submitted its application to the OAS on August 8, 2025.

3. Primary areas of activity and contributions that could be of interest to the OAS COIPRODEN is focused on coordinating and strengthening efforts to promote and defend the best interests of Honduran children in order to achieve their comprehensive development. To do this, it has established a variety of projects, such as Tejiendo Redes (Weaving Networks), Promoviendo el Liderazgo Cívico y Política de Niñas y Adolescentes mujeres en toda su Diversidad (Promoting Civic and Political Leadership of Girls and Adolescent Women in All Their Diversity), and Incidencia y Cabildeo para la Prevención de la violencia hacia la Niñez y Juventud (Advocacy and Lobbying for the Prevention of Violence against Children and Youth). COIPRODEN believes its experience supporting children and adolescents, as well as in advocacy and management in the promotion of their rights, would be highly useful to the work of the OAS.

Identification of potential areas of collaboration with the OAS Coordinadora de Instituciones Privadas Pro las Niñas, Niños, Adolescentes Jóvenes y sus Derechos would like to support the OAS in the following areas: Working together with the Inter-American Children's Institute (IIN) and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), especially the latter’s Rapporteurship on the Rights of the Child, to promote, protect, and uphold the rights of children and adolescents.

Follow-up on implementation of Summits of the Americas mandates and OAS General Assembly and Permanent Council resolutions. Promoting civil society participation in activities organized by the OAS and registration of civil society organizations in the OAS roster.
