NOTICE

MEETINGS OF THE COMMITTEE SCHEDULED FOR MAY AND JUNE 2026

The secretariat of the Permanent Council presents its compliments to the permanent missions of the member states and, at the request of the Chair of the Committee on Hemispheric Security (CSH), has the honor to transmit the dates of the meetings of the Committee to be held in May and June 2026.

Arrangements are currently being made with the Secretariat for Multidimensional Security for the presentations on the pending items envisaged in the work plan (listed at the end of this document). Information about additional topics to be included in the f ollowing meetings will be provided at the earliest opportunity.

Meeting dates

Thursday, May 7 (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) Second annual meeting on special security concerns of the small-island and low-lying coastal developing States of the Caribbean

Thursday and Friday, May 14 and 15 (10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.): Eighth Meeting of National Authorities on Trafficking in Persons (RTP VIII)

Thursday, May 21 (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) • Presentation of the annual reports of the IADB and CICTE • Presentation by the IADB, on activities related to topics within its competence, carried out and scheduled for the 2025-2026 term

Pending matters • Progress and challenges in the implementation of programs and projects in relation to hemispheric cooperation efforts to combat trafficking in persons , to be considered after RTP VIII • Follow-up on mandates on the crosscutting topic of firearms , to be considered after the meeting of the Consultative Committee of the CIFTA • Progress and challenges in implementing initiatives in support of Haiti • Progress and challenges in the implementation of programs and projects related to coordinated border management, particularly with regard to cargo and container security, and maritime security. • Progress and challenges in the implementation of programs and projects in relation to justice, penitentiary, and prison systems

The Chair also wishes to advise that an updated version of the work plan schedule will be distributed as soon as arrangements for the presentations on the pending items are finalized.
