REQUESTING THAT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PERMANENT COUNCIL BE

CONVENED FOR MARCH 4, 2026, AT 9:30 A.M., TO COMMEMORATE

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Nº. 29/26 The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Chile to the Organization of American States (OAS), on its own behalf and on behalf of the permanent missions of Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, and Uruguay, presents its compliments to the Chair of the Permanent Council and has the honor to request that a special meeting of the Permanent Council be convened for March 4, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., to commemorate International Women's Day. We propose that the meeting be held under the theme “Women in the digital transformation of the Americas,” which is intended to promote hemispheric dialogue on women’s leadership, inclusion, and digital rights. Accordingly, we wish to note that a proposed structure for the meeting will be shared shortly. It was developed in coordination with the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM). The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Chile to the OAS avails itself of this opportunity to convey to the Chair of the Permanent Council the renewed assurances of its highest consideration.
