Washington, D.C., March 13, 2026 His Excellency Ambassador Luis Ernesto Vargas Chair of the Permanent Council Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS Excellency: I have the honor to address Your Excellency to forward, through you, to the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States the resolutions adopted by the Inter-American Juridical Committee (CJI) at its recent regular session, as follows:  Resolution CJI/RES. 307 (CVIII-O/26), “Agenda for the One Hundred and Ninth Regular Session of the Inter-American Juridical Committee”  Resolution CJI/RES. 308 (CVIII-O/26), “In Appreciation to the Government of Panama” The aforementioned documents were adopted by the CJI at its 108th regular session, held in Panama City, Panama, from March 2 to 6, 2026, with the request that they be submitted to the Permanent Council for consideration. IN APPRECIATION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF PANAMA THE INTER-AMERICAN JURIDICAL COMMITTEE, HAVING accepted the cordial invitation of the Government of Panama to hold its 108th Regular Session in Panama City, Panama, from March 2 - 6, 2026; RECOGNIZING the efforts put forth by the Government of Panama to ensure the successful organization and celebration of the Regular Session of the Inter-American Juridical Committee,

RESOLVES:

1. To express its deepest gratitude to the Government of Panama for its warm and generous welcome, expressing its special gratitude to Dr. Martha del Carmen Luna Véliz of the InterAmerican Juridical Committee for all her efforts in her capacity as a member of the Committee.

2. To place on record the importance to the Committee of having convened its 108th Regular Session in this country, underscoring the opportunity its members had to meet with

American Juridical Committee for all her efforts in her capacity as a member of the Committee.

To place on record the importance to the Committee of having convened its 108th Regular Session in this country, underscoring the opportunity its members had to meet with distinguished governmental and diplomatic authorities, as well as representatives of the academic community and students from Panama.

3. To convey this resolution as an expression of its gratitude to the Government of Panama, through its Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chancellor Javier Martínez Acha Vásquez.

This resolution was unanimously approved at the regular session held on March 6, 2026, by the following members: Doctors Eric P. Rudge, Nienke Grossman, Martha del Carmen Luna Véliz, Vogly Nahum Pongnon, Alejandra Valencia Gartner, Gabriel Orellana Rojas, Cecilia Fresnedo de Aguirre and Julio José Rojas-Báez.
