NOTICE

(Deadlines and procedures for the inclusion of items at regular meetings of the Permanent Council, second quarter of 2026) The Chair of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States, Ambassador Alejandra Solano Cabalceta, Permanent Representative of Costa Rica, presents her compliments to the permanent missions of the member states and has the honor to refer to the working procedures and deadlines for the inclusion and consideration of items at meetings of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States, in accordance with its Rules of Procedure and the deadlines proposed by the Permanent Representative of Canada, as chair in the third quarter of 2025, for the timely submission of topics for regular meetings, as set out in document CP/INF.10664/25. In that regard, delegations wishing to include items in the draft order of business of regular meetings are requested to submit a formal request, accompanied by the relevant supporting and background documentation, no later than the close of business—that is, 5:30 p.m.—on the day prior to the issuance of the official notice of convocation, which is distributed three working days in advance of the date of the meeting. If the background or supporting documentation is not received within the period of three working days provided in Article 42 of the Rules of Procedure, the item requested will be removed from the order of business with a view to its consideration at a later regular meeting.
