ORDER OF BUSINESS OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE

PERMANENT COUNCIL SCHEDULED FOR MAY 20, 2026

The Permanent Mission of Peru to the Organization of American States (OAS), in its capacity as Chair of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE), presents its compliments to the Chair of the Permanent Council of the OAS and has the honor to r equest the inclusion of the item “Election of the Vice Chair of the Inter -American Committee against Terrorism” on the order of business of the regular meeting of the Permanent Council scheduled for May 20.

This request is based on the following considerations:

• At the twenty -sixth regular session of CICTE, held in April 2026, no nominations were received for the position of Vice Chair of the Committee. Consequently, it was agreed that the vacancy would be filled before the next annual meeting of CICTE, which is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

• Chapter IV of the CICTE Statute establishes that the Committee shall have a chair and a vice chair elected from among the member states.

• To date, the CICTE Secretariat has received the candidacy of the Republic of Argentina

for the first half of 2027.

• Chapter IV of the CICTE Statute establishes that the Committee shall have a chair and a vice chair elected from among the member states.

• To date, the CICTE Secretariat has received the candidacy of the Republic of Argentina for the position of vice chair of the Committee (document CICTE/INF.4/26).

The Permanent Mission of Peru to the Organization of American States avails itself of this opportunity to convey to the Chair of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States the renewed assurances of its highest consideration.
