DECISIONS ADOPTED BY CIDI

(During the regular meeting held on July 29, 2025)

The Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) held a regular meeting on July 29, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Jan Marten Willem Schalkwijk, Permanent Representative of Suriname to the Organization of American States and Chair of CIDI. The Executive Secretary for Integral Development, Mrs. Kim Osborne, was also present. The statutory quorum was established with the representatives of:

CIDI adopted the following decisions on the topics considered:

1. Thematic dialogue: Capacity Building to Improve Trade in the Americas as a Pillar of Inclusive and Sustainable Development

2. Presentation and consideration of the Draft CIDI Work Plan for the Period July-December 2025.

• Decision: CIDI approved the Work Plan for the period July–December 2025 (CIDI/doc.458/25 rev. 1), incorporating the comments and suggestions presented by delegations. The Chair emphasized that the Work Plan is a living instrument that may be adjusted during the semester in accordance with Member States’ guidance.

• Decision: CIDI took note of the oral report of the Executive Secretary for Integral Development on the progress achieved in implementing the SEDI Work Plan 2025 during the first semester. (CIDI/INF.675/25) English| Español

• Decision: CIDI approved draft resolution CIDI/RES.372/25 “Convocation of the Twelfth Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education” English | Español| Français | Português, accepting the offer of the Government of Ecuador to host the Twelfth Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education, and expressed its appreciation for Ecuador’s generosity and commitment.
