Antes de incorporarse a Rio Tinto, la Sra. Uribe se desempeñó como Directora de Políticas Públicas y Asuntos Gubernamentales en PepsiCo, empresa global de alimentos y bebidas. Previamente, fue Directora de Asuntos Regulatorios e Institucionales para América Latina y Filipinas en Coca -Cola FEMSA, la mayor embotelladora de productos Coca-Cola en el mundo.

Con anterioridad, trabajó como Asesora de Política Internacional para América Latina en Covington & Burling LLP en Washington, D.C., donde asesoró y representó a importantes clientes de la firma frente a desafíos regulatorios y políticos en América Latina y los Estados Unidos.

Asimismo, la Sra. Uribe formó parte del Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos como Asesora Principal de Políticas de la Subsecretaría para Asuntos del Hemisferio Occidental, brindando asesoría y orientación estratégica sobre asuntos prioritarios para la administración.

Antes de incorporarse al gobierno, se desempeñó como Directora Asociada del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de Georgetown University y previamente trabajó como Asesora Internacional Principal en el II Congreso Internacional sobre Víctimas del Terrorismo.

La Sra. Uribe estudió Historia en la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana y Relaciones Internacionales en Georgetown University. Habla español e inglés, y posee conocimientos funcionales de portugués. Paula Uribe recibió la Orden del Mérito General José María Córdova en el grado de Comendador otorgada por la República de Colombia.

Before joining Rio Tinto, Ms. Uribe was Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs at PepsiCo, the global food and beverage company. Prior to that, Ms. Uribe was Director, Regulatory and Institutional Affairs for Latin America and the Philippines at Co ca-Cola FEMSA, the largest bottling company of Coca-Cola products in the world.

Previously, she was International Policy Advisor for Latin America at Covington & Burling, LLP in Washington, D.C. During her time at Covington, she advised and advocated for several important firm clients facing regulatory and political challenges in Latin America and the U.S.

Earlier, Ms. Uribe served at the U.S. Department of State as Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs; during her government service she provided advice and strategic direction in dealing with matters of high priority for the administration.- 2Before joining government, Ms. Uribe was Associate Director at the Georgetown University Center for Latin American Studies, and previously worked as Senior International Advisor at the II International Congress on Victims of Terrorism.

Ms. Uribe studied History at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, and International Affairs at Georgetown University. She speaks Spanish, English and has working knowledge of Portuguese. Paula Uribe is a recipient of the Order of Merit General Jose Maria Cordova in the grade of Commander from the Republic of Colombia.
