Allegation of non-compliance of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) acting as NADO Relevant Consequences and Impact requiring action by Code Signatories [Please note that the below consequences are not in force at this stage , WADA will update Signatories if and when the consequences enter into force] On 12 September 2024 the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) issued an all-stakeholder communication confirming that the Executive Committee (ExCo) followed the recommendation of the Compliance Review Committee (CRC) to place the UOC (acting as NADO) on the ‘watchlist’, giving an additional four months to correct outstanding nonconformities. The deadline of 12 January 2025, passed without the non-conformities having been corrected to the satisfaction of the CRC. Consequently, the UOC was alleged non-compliant on 13 January 2025, and the signatory consequences listed in the ExCo decision (see below) may apply, in which case WADA will update Signatories with the exact date of entry into force.
While WADA will monitor the implementation of the consequences imposed on this NADO, this communication aims to draw your attention to the fact that under Code Article 24.1.9, other Signatories to the Code must recognize and implement these consequences in full.
